Now Published: Integrated Environmental Intelligence

Book Published

A significant scholarly milestone in the domain of environmental science and sustainability was marked today with the official release of the book titled “Integrated Environmental Intelligence: Water Security, Remote Sensing, Machine Learning and Conservation Strategies for Sustainable Development – Volume 1.” The event took place at the office of the National Biodiversity Authority, Government of India underscoring the institutional importance of the publication.

The volume was formally released by Shri. Virendra R. Tiwari IFS (Retd.), Hon’ble Chairperson of the National Biodiversity Authority, Govt. of India, in the distinguished presence of Shri. B. Balaji IFS (Retd.), Hon’ble Member Secretary. The book launch was held in the presence of the editors, Prof. V. Saisaraswahi (VIT–Vellore) and Dr. Kumaraguru Arumugam (Editor-in-Chief, BCF India).

Published by Biodiversity Conservation Foundation (BCF India), the volume represents a comprehensive and interdisciplinary synthesis of contemporary advancements in environmental intelligence. It brings together contributions from leading scientists, academicians, and practitioners across a wide spectrum of domains including hydrology, geospatial sciences, artificial intelligence, biodiversity conservation, and climate resilience.

The contributing authors comprise distinguished experts affiliated with premier institutions such as the Indian Space Research Organisation, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore,  Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, BITS Pilani - Hyderabad, Bharathidasan University, Trichy, Madras University, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, (MOEF&CC), Government of India, The Energy Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi, Techno India University, West Bengal, Department of Marine Science, Calcutta University  and other reputed universities and research centers across India. The volume also benefited from rigorous peer review and critical inputs from international experts, ensuring high scientific integrity and global relevance.

The thematic framework of the book emphasizes the integration of remote sensing technologies, machine learning methodologies, and ecological conservation strategies to address pressing challenges in water security and sustainable development. By bridging data-driven intelligence with environmental policy and practice, the publication aims to support evidence-based decision-making at regional, national, and global levels.

The volume features foreword contributions from Julie Ladel, an eminent international expert associated with global water initiatives, as well as from the Hon’ble Chairperson of the National Biodiversity Authority. These perspectives reinforce the global significance and policy relevance of the work.



On the occasion, the Chairperson of the National Biodiversity Authority appreciated and congratulated the editors for their valuable contribution to water security and sustainable development. The Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Kumaraguru Arumugam, conveyed sincere gratitude to all contributing authors, reviewers, and editorial board members, whose collective expertise and commitment have shaped the volume into a robust scientific resource.
